It’s been a strange and difficult few months for us at Oil 4 Wales, as it has been for everybody in Wales, and the world.

It’s by no means back to normal life, but as lockdown restrictions ease we are finding a new normal here. Managing busier workloads and remaining careful and safe.

First we want to say a massive thank you to our staff, who have been working so hard throughout the peak of the pandemic: our drivers, our engineers, our office staff, our retail teams, our management. Without their hard work and people stepping up whilst others have been quarantined, off work, unable to come to the office – we wouldn’t have gotten through this.

We feel incredibly lucky to have such a loyal and hardworking team, and a team that has kept us positive through the tough times over the last few months. And a thank you to the team for being so vigilant with social distancing and keeping best practice when it can be difficult over such a long period of time.

Second, we would like to say thank you to the customers who have stuck with us in this time. Individuals and businesses alike. Without your support we would have struggled a lot more than we have. We owe you a lot and thank you for supporting us.

Support local in Wales

Now things are tentatively opening back up, our local businesses need us more than ever.

We were so sad to hear about Castell Howell going into consultation recently, as we have worked with them for a number of years and respect them as a wonderful Welsh businesses. Castell Howell and businesses like them need our support!

How can you support local?

Even if you’re unable or not wanting to take a trip to a physical store or location, you can still order from a lot of local businesses. Order from smaller, local brands and forego the big chains that are still doing well in all of this.

When you pop into one of our service stations to pay for fuel or grab some bread, why not buy some local products too? In our Oil 4 Wales service station shops we stock a range of different Welsh brands and products, from fresh pastries and pies to ice-cream and ciders.

Share share share! If you’re unable to make a purchase, follow some local brands on social media, share their posts. Recommend them to friends!

Gift local. If it’s somebody’s birthday or celebration coming up, why not get them a gift-card to your local bookstore, or send them some coffee from a small brand in Wales?

It’s by no means back to normal here at Oil 4 Wales.

We are taking steps to remain safe and to keep our customers and staff safe. We hope everybody is doing well.

From,

The Oil 4 Wales team.
