Two of Wales’s leading family-run businesses have come together to help support communities on both sides of the Severn Bridge.

Leading national oil distributor Oil 4 Wales has teamed up with nationwide retailer Leekes over the past month to undertake a mammoth challenge.

Oil 4 Wales, which supplies oil to over 65,000 domestic and commercial customers across the country, supported the retailer when it needed to move a 10,000 litre fuel dispenser tank almost 100 miles from Coventry to Bristol.

The undertaking saw Oil 4 Wales’s specialist teams load the tank onto a lorry securely ahead of the journey.

On arrival at Park Furnishers in Bristol,  part of the Leekes retail group, the tank was safely fitted and will now be used to heat the store, which is visited by thousands of shoppers annually.

Colin Owens, managing director of Oil 4 Wales, said he was delighted to be supporting one of Wales’s most iconic family-run businesses and hoped that they could work together to support communities across England and Wales.

He said: “As a family-run businesses which prides itself on working with the community and for the community, we are proud to have teamed up with the Leekes retail group to support them with this project.

“This was a significant challenge which saw our teams put their specialist knowledge in transporting large fuel tanks to the test, with the tank travelling for a number of hours and almost 100 miles between both destinations.

“Upon arrival the tank was safely installed by our engineers and will now work efficiently at Park Furnishers.

“We’d like to thank them for their support and co-operation throughout, and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Oil 4 Wales supplies 65,000 domestic and commercial customers across Wales with a range of fuel services and hosts community events across the country alongside its brand ambassadors – rugby players Rob Evans, Ken Owens, Jonathan Davies, Dan Biggar, and Dan Lydiate and TV farmer Gareth Wyn Jones.
