For those of you that know us at Oil 4 Wales, you should already know that we’re a proud Welsh business with the local community at the heart of what we do.

Over the years we’ve loved getting involved in the community, donating and volunteering with charities, and being truly traditional in our human approach to business. This year, we’re ready to kick it up another notch!

Supporting Welsh brands, as a Welsh brand

We believe that it’s time to do even more to support and work alongside Welsh-born businesses. With our brand new Maesteg garage shop and upcoming Nantycaws shop and cafe, we want to bring more Welsh brands into our business.

Cue Richard, our brand new Operations Manager over at the recently refurbished Maesteg Garage.

“When I was approached by Sally about the role it was the way she talked about the company that really attracted me to joining Oil 4 Wales.Sally is extremely passionate about the company and about how much of a family business it really is.”

Richard’s mission: to support Welsh brands

“My mission is to develop the brand into a leader in Wales using Welsh products produced in Wales. I want to really to help support upcoming Welsh brandsAs a proud Welsh business we have a duty to help support other Welsh businesses when we are able to. There’s nothing better than being able to say to customers that these products are made locally, to really drive home that we can get great products that are made here in Wales, and that they rival anything made elsewhere.”

Who are we working with now?

We are currently working with brands like Castell Howell, Morton Fine Foods Butchers, Tregroes Waffles, Gwynt y Ddraig, Talgarth Bakery, Little Welsh Deli and, our most recent addition, Gower Ice Cream – which is Swansea based.

“Gower Ice Cream were a brand I was interested in working with from my first day with Oil 4 Wales! Being a Swansea boy myself I had noticed them building up a really good reputation for their great tasting ice cream throughout Swansea. When I mentioned to Colin that I’d like to get them in, it just happened to be a company that Colin was already well aware of due to his friendship with the owners- – he set up our first meeting together and it went from there!”

Richard’s mission: going forwards

“Watch this space! We are only just beginning to really drive this side of the business forward and we are so excited to get more Welsh brands and businesses onboard!
And, in terms of the Nantycaws refurbishment, we are so excited!  I really think when it’s all completed it will become a must stop spot for all passing by especially when they see the views from the new cafe. The new cafe and shop will provide another opportunity to showcase and support other welsh businesses!”

Are you a Welsh business who could work with Oil 4 Wales?

“We are open to all types of products and brands: gifts, welsh merchandise, confectionery, biscuits, fresh produce, chilled foods, frozen foods, alcohol, coffee… there’s a lot of scope!”

If you think you’d be a perfect fit, send Richard an email to get the ball rolling!
