Welsh hill farmer Gareth Wyn Jones is calling on consumers to choose locally produced lamb as part of a UK-wide initiative.

The Oil 4 Wales ambassador has spoken out about Love Lamb Week and called on people to get behind the national campaign.

Love Lamb Week, which is celebrated between September 1st and the 7th annually, encourages consumers to buy more locally sourced lamb, or just try it for the first time.

This year, The National Sheep Association has jumped on board to promote the importance of buying locally sourced British meat.

However, Gareth is going one step further by calling on people across Wales to seek out local lamb produce, not just during this week, but all year round!

He said: “While it can be more time consuming to choose locally sourced lamb, it does ensure that hard-working Welsh farmers can continue to produce good-quality meat for the nation’s supermarkets.”

Gareth is working with Oil 4 Wales to campaign for more people in Wales to buy local and help ease the issues faced by those in agriculture.
